Around this time last year I embarked on a journey to Yaviza, Panama with Global Medical Brigades to set up temporary dental and medical clinics to help those in need. We provided free dental and medical care to families, students, and anyone in need of medical attention that were not able to easily access or afford it. As seen in the photo above, this woman was not in need of care herself, but was so passionate about making sure her children received it. Her children and mostly everyone we came in contact with at the clinic suffered from having parasites transmitted through the limited water sources available. This wonderful lady and overall experience touched my heart. Seeing this photo reminds me of her and her perseverance to overcome any obstacle that she is put through. It is important to always remember that no matter what you go through to continue fighting and appreciate the struggle as for it builds strength, courage, and wisdom.
